Washington City Councilman Cullars found guilty of simple battery against Mayor

(WASHINGTON, GA) – Washington City Councilman Nathaniel Cullars was found guilty on two counts of simple battery in Wilkes County Superior Court on Monday, April 17 in a bench trial by Senior Superior Court Judge J. Carlisle Overstreet.

The convictions stems from an incident on October 6, 2021 with Mayor Bill DeGolian at City Hall, during which Cullars was charged with shoving the Mayor in a hallway during a dispute.

Trial witnesses included testimony from 6 witnesses for the prosecution, and 5 character witnesses for Cullars.
Cullars was sentenced to 1 year probation, $400 fines, and anger management counseling.
