Columnist “Ramblin'”Don Rhodes passes
The Journal Messenger and Reporter mourns the passing of beloved music and entertainment columnist “Ramblin” Don Rhodes who has written the entertainment column for the paper since 2021.
Rhodes was one of America’s leading writers on bluegrass, country and other music genres for decades, providing the regular entertainment column for the Augusta Chronicle and Morris newspapers, along with Bluegrass Magazine. He was especially fond of and provided coverage of Lincolnton’s Lewis Family, Little Roy and Lizzy, and Jeff and Sheri Easter.
Posey Funeral Directors in North Augusta is in charge of arrangements, and will release details Monday afternoon. Don’s final column will appear in this week’s edition on Thursday, June 15.
