Wilkes County School Bus Involved in Traffic Accident on N. Butler Street

(WILKES COUNTY, Ga.) – A Wilkes County School System bus was involved in a traffic accident on N. Butler Street on the afternoon of June 10, according to statements released by Wilkes County Emergency Services and Wilkes County Schools.

Wilkes County Emergency Services reported at 12:59 p.m. that there were no reported injuries to any students, the bus driver, or others involved in the accident.

In a statement to families, Wilkes County Schools confirmed that one of its school buses was involved in the traffic accident and said district personnel worked closely with emergency responders to ensure students remained safe and were cared for throughout the situation.

The school district also expressed gratitude for the response from local first responders.

Both Wilkes County Emergency Services and Wilkes County Schools stated that there have been no reported injuries at this time.
